The reason we want a better city is for the people. The people want services, recreation, safety and amenities for themselves and their families.
I believe Chestermere does not have to be everything for all of society. I believe its focus should firstly be on what its residents want and need and second on how to make that sustainable and obtainable.
I firmly believe a healthy city needs a significant amount of green space, large parks and congregating areas. These parks are often hundreds of acres in size. This type of planning needs to be done early and then continuously work towards that goal.
Restructuring Chestermere, is based on 4 key pillars to build a strong foundation upon.
Elevated Financial Sophistication. New Revenue Streams, Strong Commercial tax base, Developers paying their way
3 E's. Efficiently spending of tax dollars, Effectiveness of reaching goals, Expertise within the City.
High Quality of Life. Listening to residents needs. Planning for a high quality of life for residents and Safety & Crime prevention.

Our City needs restructuring. Ex-Mayor Chalmers term ran a deficit for all four years and lost $7 Million in 2020, lied to us and gave us a 2% tax reduction to hide it. A complete failure and they all hid this from residents. The corruption stops now!
In Mayor Colvin's 1st & 2nd year, he restructured City Hall, developers paid more, roads got built, things got done and realized a surplus each year and cut taxes 25%!!!
We need to clean up and take back our town, for our families. Chestermere is our place to raise our families, succeed, live safely, and retire.
Either you want RESULTS or just games and lies!!
Support Mayor Colvin and take back our town.
Please take some time to review this section on plans for Chestermere. They are actual and now with the changes Minister McIver has made, are in severe jeopardy of being realized. - Jeff Colvin, ex-Mayor of Chestermere
It is imperative that Chestermere develop its Commercial Tax Base. Prior to being elected our Tax Base ratio was approx. 96% Residential & 4% Commercial. A Cities target ratio should be 40% Residential & 60% Commercial. We have beat this!!
Within two years, we have $4.24 Billion dollars of commercial projects in process, under contract and being negotiated on. This will translate to approx. $25 million dollars of commercial tax dollars paid annually. This will bring our commercial tax base well over what is required to operate the city.
Chestermere has never seen results like this.
Economic zones identify areas that are the workhorse for our financial return to us all, the owners of our City. It is important that these economic zones provide dual purpose. Not only do they provide a commercial tax base or a return to us citizens, they provide access to amenities and services that we all want to make our lives easier and more enjoyable.
There are three primary economic zones we are focusing on at this point in Chestermere's growth cycle. Some we are late on and should have had years ago, some are becoming more essential and some will take Chestermere and its residents to the next level, which most City's are not able to obtain.

Please, take the time to review the successes this council has achieved in a very short period within these economic zones that will reshape the fabric of our culture, economic landscape and enhance all our quality of life.
