The City of Chestermere brought to the residents late in 2021 that they wanted to spend a minimum of $40,000,000 on a Soccer Field House. Councilor Foat and Bold asked numerous times for a more detailed review on the financial aspects of this project and were never allowed the information and turned down by council block vote. Hiding what was really happening.
The City faked a sod turning ceremony Aug 30, 2021 and actually never owned the land. The land was never even subdivided.
Councilor Young mislead residents at the public forum speech, saying if the Field house was stopped, it would cost taxpayers more than the cost of the $40M project.
Staff hid the lawyers letter saying the City had no liability if the project stopped.
City Councilors and Staff were provided proof of similar facility being built for $7.4M and no one was interested in investigating at all, except C. Foat.
Council and staff put out false information about limited debt funding sources for the $40M, when it was all debt. The City was taking money from roads and infrastructure funding grants, which the city would need to replenish with debt.
Councilor Foat asking to slow down and take a better look at the costs around the overpriced $40M Field House. Denied every time.

This proves that the Civic Field House was way over priced at $40M. Improper and irregular activity detected. Investigation needed.
The City received a quote in May 2023, on new Field Houses. There are two sizes being looked at, a similar sized one as the old Civic centre , approx 90,000 sqft, the size of a normal full size fifa large field. The 30% larger size is 120,000 sqft field house. Which is quite a bit larger allowing more configurations for splitting the field in the winter.
The larger 120,000 sqft Field House similar as being built in a prominent community, the quote is for $12.5M. including parking lot and site servicing and preparation.
Normal 90,000 sqft Field House quote is for $8.75M. Including the parking lot, site servicing and preparation.
